HISTORY

I have a colleague in RL who is a descendant of Thomas Jefferson.  During his lifetime (Jefferson’s), he had children with one of his slaves, Sally Heming.  My colleague, some years ago, was part of a coming-together of both sides of the family – the black , the whites, and everything in between.  The focus of this talk would be on the experiences, of race, particularly the history of black/white relations in the US, and the eventual reconciliation that this family is undergoing to realize their common ancestry, and ultimately humanity.

Particulars:  I will need Skype to bring my colleague and her cousin to a Skype conference call, and then a Shoutcast server to provide the stream for the Skype call into world.  Visuals will be provided in-world.

Requests:  I would love help with advertising this (group notices, SL event schedule, websites), with providing music and/or DJ around the event, and whatever else that would be fun!  Also,  a Shoutcast server to use.
