ASERELA Maine; Robert Oryem

Interview and discussion

When:  March 14, 1pm SLT

Location:  ASERELA house on Four Bridges in SL

Voice:  In-World (thanks, millay!), and backup plan is a streamed skype call.

Background:

On March 14 (Sunday) I'll interview Robert Oryem, founder of ASERELA - the Action for Self Reliance Association - a non-profit in the US whose mission it is to help the young refugees from Darfur and southern Sudan get an education.  To this end, he has already built one school in Uganda (a destination for thousands of refugees) and current efforts are to build a second school, this time in Sudan.

I'll update this announcement with SLURL (we will be in Second Life for this) but the date and time are set, and it would be terrific for all to be there to see the photos and hear the stories first-hand.  This is particularly relevant in light of the recent peace accords in Darfur.

I'll take questions through chat, and will likely have Robert on a skype call streamed into SL.  He's very much looking forward to 'meeting' all of you.

Donations:  To ASERELA Maine for the construction of the school in southern Sudan.
